SHALLINI graduated with a law degree from the University of London with Honours in 2001. Thereafter, having successfully obtaining her Certificate of Legal Practice in 2003, she commenced her pupillage in an established and notable firm in Penang representing various banking and financial institutions. Shallini was then enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2004. Prior to joining the Firm, Shallini practiced at several leading law firms with the most notable being Messrs Paul Chong & Nathan, amongst others, working extensively with several leading financial institutions and also corporate and commercial conveyances.

Since joining the Firm, Shallini has been regularly providing advise to corporate clients on various commercial and corporate matters including sale and purchase of businesses and companies, shareholders’ rights and commercial tenancies just to name a few and matters relating to Industrial Relations and employment laws on a retainer or ad hoc basis.

Apart from advisory services, she is also often engaged by clients to draft, vet and review commercial agreements such as Teaming Agreements, JV Agreements, Sale of Business Agreements, Investment Agreements, Friendly Loan Agreements, Inter-Co related Agreements, MOUs and even Settlement Agreements, just to name a few. Shallini also focuses on the area of technology and regularly drafts, vets and reviews the various IT commercial contracts such as license subscription agreements, preventive maintenance agreements, SaaS Agreements, E-Commerce Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Software Development Agreements and other similar agreements.

Whilst her focus remains in corporate and commercial conveyances, however in not wanting to merely limit herself, Shallini also from time to time takes on court cases involving family and probate matters, whether contested or otherwise, and matters relating to business conflicts and contractual disputes. Shallini brings with her extensive experience in her field of expertise and provides great added value to the Firm. She loves the idea of tackling new challenges as she relishes taking on “the bull by its horns”.
